QUOTE=Sangahnon;70050]I've been working on this project since August of last year and finally i'm done with hardest part it, the roof. Everything about the project turned better than i had envisioned except the roof the way i was trying to cut the angle on both sides. I came up with last minute idea of adding a little deck up top side as well on the eastside of the pier and i will extend the deck inward under the roof so we could use the loft to sleep more people when camping out. Will have to wait and see how it turns out, i guess.[/quote]

I love it Sang. Hope you let us come visit you. I'll bring Beerlao.

Got quite abit done today considering that i only have one day to work on the fishing pier. I took down the scaffolding and almost finished installing the deck for sleeping quarter up in the ceiling area, it should be able to sleep three people up topside. I wont be able to finish the rest and the railings until about another week and half or two when i have my next days off.

Me and my mom started working the railings for The Fishing Shack yesterday. I didnt want to do anything extravagant just simple looking appearance. So far all is looking really good. I believe i have accompished what i had set out to do from the beginning of this project of building something unique.

Awesome Sang! I wish I had time to do all these cool projects. Dang wife and kids keep me too busy with everything else.

One question though. Is there a slight angle at the edge of the roof where you have that piece protruding from the sides so water can run off? If not aren't you worried about rust?

Tui, if i was married and have kids i wouldnt be doing too much of this either but it's better i'm spending my spare time on something like this than other things cuz atleast it's something me and family will enjoy for years to come.

Originally i wasnt having much of an angle when 1st started so i had go back redid them so they had slight angle. Yeah they were leaking big time. My mom even tried to tell me before i started to build them at an angle but being hard headed i didnt listen until i had leaks everywhere on the 1st rain. All the materials are treated and cedar.

My friend came out to visit and helped out alittle putting up the sign and a few nicknack things around the fishing shack today. It was a very beautiful day abit windy one of few days where it's raining outside when working on the pier.
